When does the rafting season begin and end? -- The season runs from April - October, seven days a week.

When are water levels the highest? -- Highest water is usually in the Spring (April, May & June), but there are exceptions based on the dam release schedules.

Will there be enough water for my trip? -- Yes, the river is dam controlled.

How cold is the water? -- Water temperatures are 40-50 F in April & May, 50-60 F in June, and then it warms to over 70 F in July & August. Depending on the weather, it can stay warm well into September. Typically, temperatures drop again in October.

Will I need a wetsuit? -- Wetsuits are required in early Spring & Fall. If If you don't have your own equipment, you can rent full wetsuit, booties and paddling jacket on site. All sizes from extra small to super extra large are available. Wetsuit rentals are available for all trips, and your trip leader will make a recommendation the morning of the trip based on the the air and water temperatures the day of the trip.

What should I wear for rafting? -- A swimsuit (or shorts), sneakers (or river sandals), a brimmed hat, sunglasses (straps especially for prescription glasses), contacts are O.K., wind breaker, synthetic's lowers and uppers (i.e., Polypropylene & Capilene). It's wise to bring more clothing than you think you'll need at any time of the year. In the Spring and Fall, DO NOT wear cotton or cotton blend clothing! Don't forget a towel and a change of clothes for the end of the day!

Do I Need to Have Whitewater Experience to Raft? -- No, experience is not necessary. However, minimum age to participate is 10 years old. No maximum age limit currently exists. Having normal health is advised. Non-swimmers are also welcome, you'll wear awesome flotation vests. Further, there will be 6-8 guests per self-bailing raft, and your guide will be with you at all times. Just bring a desire to have fun!

What About Other Equipment? -- No worries, it will be provided. All paddling-related equipment, self-bailing rafts, Certified Maine Guides, a river lunch, all transportation, a photographer and the "Thrill of a Lifetime".


It is advised that you arrive 30 minutes early, trips will not wait for late arrivals.
Alcohol and ALL controlled substances are strictly prohibited from the trip. If you are under the influence of alcohol or any other controlled substance you may refused service.

Cancellation Policy

There are no refunds. All sales are final.

Change policy

If changes are allowed on a tour or activity, a $20.00 per reservation change fee will be applied for any change to a reservation. Please note that some tours and activities do not allow any changes. Date changes can only be made only if we can confirm availability on the new date. While we cannot guarantee any changes can be made, all change requests must be submitted a minimum of 24 hours prior to the tour departure and must be handled on an individual basis through our Reservations Center.
